inter-metalic compound
So I talked about it, they talk about it, we have our ideas about it.......
But pictures are worth 1000 words....so here you go 18k rose gold with 23% copper.
What happened? I alloyed the metal in the crucible I was going to cast it in, got distracted allowed it to air cool all the way down to room temp. and an hour later decided to cast it without thinking about the alloy type or what I just did to it. Then after torch casting it let it sit too long in the casting machine. Well when I got it out of the plaster it already started to crumble, I tried to clip some of the parts and they shattered. the part that is broken in half was done with my bare hands...
